Fort HealthCare named sponsor of the 11th Annual Discover Whitewater Series

Organizers of the Discover Whitewater Series (DWS) half marathon, half marathon team event, 5k and “W3 Fit Kid Shuffle” have announced that Fort HealthCare will serve this year as event title sponsor.

The event will be held Sunday, Sept. 17.

According to information released by DWS, the event “promotes healthy living for all ages in the Whitewater community.”

As stated in the release, many of Fort HealthCare’s employees have in past years served as volunteers on “race day.”

Additionally, the release states, organizers of the event and Fort HealthCare share a commitment to health within the community, further noting that Fort HealthCare is dedicated to upholding the values of “teamwork, empowerment, professionalism, and responsiveness to continuously satisfy the needs of patients.

“Through these shared core values, the DWS and Fort HealthCare can continue to give back to Whitewater residents in a powerful way,” the release read.

“We are thrilled to see Fort HealthCare support the DWS for another year. Their devotion to promoting a healthy lifestyle for our residents is truly valuable to our mission,” Jeff Knight, president of the Greater Whitewater Committee, said.

According to the DWS website, the Greater Whitewater Committee initiated the race in September of 2013.

Proceeds from the DWS race are used annually to support designated charities.
