It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Patrick R. Teed who left this world on December 27, 2023.
Patrick (Pat) was born on his father’s birthday, September 19, 1954. He was the third son in the family, the curious one, who never missed a beat when it came to how things worked. Pat was an inquisitive boy who watched and listened and learned. It was through this inquisitiveness that he became a fix-it “magician.” Pat could fix anything from ice machines to the church bells. He was the guy who found great pleasure in repairing things that others deemed impossible. He was incredibly intelligent and humble. The twinkle in his eye let those around him know how happy he was to help another.
Pat was also a gifted musician. He played music like he fixed machines, with an enthusiasm for making each song the best it could be. He had an extraordinary musical ear and could play without reading music. He learned the bass in a friend’s garage when the band needed a bassist. Later he learned how to play the stand-up bass and boy could he play that bass! Later in life he joined his friends and wife to play some local gigs, that twinkle in his eye, as he made good music for others. He glorified God by playing music in his church with a small group of immensely important friends and also sang in the church choir.
Pat was a simple man who loved his family dearly. He married the former Linda Strohbusch on August 1, 1982. Together they built their own home and raised three beautiful children: Laura, Megan and Jacob. He was immensely proud of his only granddaughter, Kayla Lynne, and enjoyed spending “grandpa time” with her.
Pat leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Linda, his children and grandchild, two brothers: Russell Teed and Jerome (Ellen) Teed and his sister Patricia (Tom) Vogel. He further leaves his mother-in- law Mary Strohbusch, brothers-in-law Jim Strohbusch and Steve Strohbusch (David Kiernan,) special nieces and nephews, many wonderful cousins and friends. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents Roger and Elizabeth Teed, his special niece and nephew Beth and James Lyngaas, his father-in-law William (Bill) Strohbusch, grandparents, extended family, and special friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Whitewater, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. with Father William Nolan presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fort Atkinson. A luncheon will immediately follow the burial at The Bridge at River and Main, 88 South Main Street in Fort Atkinson, WI. Please join us for food, memories, and music.
Pat’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Froedtert Hospital for making the impossible possible, Rainbow Hospice for the indescribable care, his brother-in-law Steve Strohbusch for his support and immeasurable wisdom, special friends Dave and Amy Podmolik and family for more things than can be mentioned, his church music family including the choir and Tom and Lisa Meitzner, the “Fort Quart” group and the many family and friends who have supported us through this long journey. Pat would be so joyful to know that he made a difference in another’s life. He would also be incredibly happy to know that his cancer journey created learning and understanding for others. He left this world a better place than he found it. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Psalm 23
