Editor’s note: information below has been provided by a political candidate announcing his intention to run for office. Other candidates wishing to run for political office will have equal opportunity to announce their intentions.
Scott Obernberger, a local businessman, has announced that he is running for one of four at-large aldermanic seats on the Jefferson City Council.
The election will be held April 2.
Obernberger, is the owner of Twice Baked Pottery, LLC, and the president of the Jefferson Main Street Association, Inc.
He relocated his home and business to Jefferson in April of 2022.
Obernberger purchased his downtown building in 2021 and renovated and preserved the historical 1879 building, which serves both as his home and the home of Twice Baked Pottery.
“I chose Jefferson as the place where I want to live, work, and take my business to the next level. This is a city where the leadership understands and appreciates not just the needs of its businesses, but more importantly, the needs of its citizens. Just as I was excited to make Jefferson my home, I am excited and hopeful that I will be able to give back to Jefferson after it has done so much for me. I will work with Jefferson’s current leadership to continue moving Jefferson forward in a thoughtful way that helps us to maintain our family-focused, small-town values. By listening to ideas from all sides and working together with others, we can solve most problems and keep Jefferson a great place to live, work and move forward,” Obernberger said within the announcement.
Obernberger has, since moving to Jefferson, expanded his business to include wholesale as well.
“In just the last two years, thanks to the incredible support of the city and the people of Jefferson, I have expanded not just my retail business, but expanded into wholesale. In just one year I now sell to approximately 50 stores around the country. I know how to build a business and will use my skills to help Jefferson continue its incredible development,” Obernberger stated.
Additionally, the candidate said: “I am proud of the fact that my vision is in line with those who have worked so hard to make Jefferson the amazing place that it is today. It is because of this that Mayor Dale Opperman and Alderpersons Schroeder, Neils, Teeter, Mattke, and Beyer have endorsed my candidacy. I am grateful for their trust and support.”
