‘Roses of Remembrance’ placed in Fort, Jefferson, Whitewater

The Eli Pierce-Fort Atkinson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) recently honored over 1,000 veterans during a three-day event over which DAR members placed “Roses of Remembrance” on graves in Jefferson, Whitewater, and Fort Atkinson.

The activity is part of a DAR Day of Service held annually in October, according to information released by the organization.

DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. Members are direct descendants of American Revolution patriots, according to the release.
