’12 Ways to Save Democracy in Wisconsin’ author to speak in Fort

Matt Rothschild, executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, a nonprofit watchdog organization, will speak on his recently published book, “12 Ways to Save Democracy in Wisconsin,” according to a recent news release. 

The event will be held Saturday, March 19, at 1 p.m, at the Cafe Carpe, 18 S. Water Street West, Fort Atkinson.  

The public is invited and refreshments will be served, the release stated. 

About Rothschild

According to the release, Matt Rothschild is the executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, where he has worked since 2015. He testifies regularly at the State Capitol, and he appears often on radio stations across the state, including WORT, WPR, WOJB, and Devil Radio 92.7 in Madison. He’s been a leading voice warning about the risks posed to our democracy by Donald Trump and the far right. Before coming to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, he worked at The Progressive magazine for 32 years; for most of that time, as editor and publisher.

Additionally, the release stated: The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign is a nonprofit watchdog organization, founded in 1995, that tracks money in politics and advocates for a broad range of pro-democracy reforms. It is an active member in the Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition, a nonpartisan citizen organization dedicated to ending gerrymandering, and the Wisconsin Voting Rights Coalition.
