The Fort Atkinson Library board has announced that it will be presenting its first Food Truck Festival Sunday, Sept. 18.
The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Dwight Foster Public Library. The 200 block of Merchants Avenue will be shut down for the duration of the event, according to information released by the city and the library.
The food truck festival will consist of area food truck vendors and local Fort Atkinson brick and mortar businesses to serve food to patrons, with the local band “Three Thin Dimes” playing as entertainment, the release stated.
“We knew we wanted to have a food truck festival, but we wanted the event to be inclusive of local merchants, too,” Autumn Harden, a library board spokesperson, was quoted as saying in the release.
Vendors participating in the event will be parked along the 200 block of Merchants Avenue.
In addition to the wide variety of culinary offerings, the release noted, the library board hopes to showcase the extensive programs offered by the library to community members.
The event will take place rain or shine, with seating set up in the community room for eating in case of inclement weather.
Local merchants Beauty and the Bean and Frostie Freeze headline the list of twelve vendors signed up so far, according to the release.
