The Whitewater Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will be hosting the Whitewater Storytelling Festival.
In its second year, the festival will be held Friday through Sunday, Sept. 23-25, in various locations throughout the Whitewater community.
According to information released by the chamber, the event is a celebration of the art of storytelling, featuring the talents of local, regional and national storytellers.
The event is a collaborative effort, described in the release as “harnessing the talents, skills and resources of multiple organizations and individuals in the Whitewater community.”
As of Sunday, the chamber’s website notes that a schedule of activities associated with the event will be coming soon.

According to the release, this year’s event will be supported, in part, through use of a Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
The three-year grant offers an opportunity for the chamber and its partners to “highlight Whitewater’s robust arts community” and, building upon last year’s beginning, grow the festival into a larger event.
The event is sponsored by Generac Power Systems, Inc.
