Second annual Rhythm Remix brings music fans downtown

Mother Nature provided blue skies, pleasant temperatures and a nice breeze for the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce’s Rhythm Remix Saturday. The end-of-summer party featured musical entertainment at five venues, a Fort Atkinson Lions Club brat and cheese curd fry, sidewalk sales and children’s activities. The free family-friendly event took place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Event-goers enjoyed music and activities at the Riverwalk Plaza, Cafe Carpe, Jones Market, Good 2 Go and Mr. Brews Taphouse.

According to information shared by the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce in advance of the event, Rhythm Remix was designed as an alternative to Rhythm on the River, an end-of-summer block party that brought some 5,000 attendees to the Fort Atkinson downtown for an evening of musical entertainment. The event was a staple in the community for 18 years.

In 2021, in response to COVID-19, the Fort Atkinson Chamber of Commerce and the Rhythm on the River committee created a daytime event called Rhythm Remix, replacing Rhythm on the River. The free, family-friendly event featured regional musical talent taking place at five different downtown venues throughout the day in smaller group settings to provide a safe and comfortable experience for all involved.

Due to its popularity and success, it was scheduled to return for its second year, the release stated.
