Whitewater: ‘Breakfast with Santa’ scheduled

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater/Community Optimist Club has announced that it will be hosting “Breakfast with Santa,” Saturday, Dec. 3.

According to a news release, the event will be held at the Esker Dining Hall, 420 N. Prairie St., on the UW-Whitewater campus, from 8 to 11 a.m.  All members of the community are invited to attend.   

Parking is available on the north side of the building. 

In past years, some 750 people have attended the event, the release stated. 

Breakfast will include French toast with syrup, sausage, donut holes, and a selection of juices, milk, and coffee, coming at a cost is $5 for adults and free for children under 12.  

“Santa,” “Mrs. Claus,” elves, and “Frosty the Snowman” will be on hand to greet guests and pose for photographs. Event-goers are encouraged to bring cameras.

Additionally, children will receive a “small bag of treats from Santa’s elves,” the release noted. 

During the event, a coloring and story book corner will be available, music will be provided by various local groups, “with the potential for public caroling,” the release continued.

A “mitten tree” also will be available where those in attendance may donate mittens, hats and scarves for children and adults. Children’s underwear and socks are also needed. 

Donations are distributed to the Whitewater Unified School District, Bethel House, the Community Space, VIP in Elkhorn and Opportunities, Inc., Fort Atkinson.
