Diane Marie Deutsch

Diane Marie Deutsch, 70, of Fort Atkinson passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at UW-Madison Hospital following a brief illness.

Diane was born on June 16, 1954 in Indiana to Ernest and Florence (Scheidt) Deutsch.  In the early sixties, the family moved to Wisconsin.  She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1972.  Diane worked for many years at Highsmith Co. in Fort Atkinson as an advertising production supervisor.  She received her LPN license in 1996 from MATC in Fort Atkinson.  Diane worked at various healthcare facilities in the Fort Atkinson area for many years.

She enjoyed spending time and going on walks with her dogs, gardening, baking, making crafts for her friends and watching the trail cams from Southern Africa.  Diane had a dream to one day travel to South Africa.  She also enjoyed celebrating Christmas time and was an avid Packer and Brewers fan.  Diane was a big supporter of animal rescue causes.  Most of all, Diane enjoyed spending time with her friends, Terry, Nadine, and Jill.

Diane is survived by her sister, Mary Fay; brother, Richard (Diane) Deutsch; twin brother, Don (Wendy) Deutsch; four-legged beloved companion, Cara the dog; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Florence Deutsch; and brothers, William Deutsch, and James Deutsch and nephew Daniel Deutsch

A celebration of life will be held at Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson on September 14, 2024 from 1PM to 3PM.

One of her wishes was to ask people to help one another. Even if it is something small, just be helpful.

One of her favorite songs is “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty. Play it loud for her and remember the good times.

A donation can be made in Diane’s name to The Humane Society of Jefferson County.

The family would like to give special thanks to Fort Memorial Hospital and UW-Madison staff for their exceptional care for Diane.
