Nathan Hartwig and Analiese Walter were crowned king and queen when Fort Atkinson High School held its Homecoming pep rally Friday afternoon.

Joining them on the court are Callie Draves, Lily Rodriguez, Reagan Horwath, Valentina Santamaria, Olivia Brock, Trista Yackels, Keenan Hendrickson, Mason Gourley, Jayden Wilson, Albion Mane, Brian Trader and Brennan Trader.

Friday night’s football game was played against DeForest. The Blackhawks lost by one point for a final score of 42-41.

The Homecoming Dance will be held at the school from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday (tonight). The theme is “Light Up the Night.”

Also during the pep rally, students and staff played several games, including a tug-of-war, a glow worm race, “What’s in my backpack?” and ”What’s in my bucket?”

Winning the jalepeño-eating contest was senior Yurida Torres.

School athletic teams and clubs were introduced, and members of the pom pon squad performed on their own and with the football team.

Providing music was the Fort Atkinson High School Band.

The brave contestants had a choice of having whatever was in their bucket poured on their head or switching with someone else. The lucky ones ended up with cheeseballs and cottonballs. The not-so-lucky players faced eggs, ice cream, SpaghettiOs and more.
