An online candidates forum featuring one-on-one interviews with each of three candidates running for two seats on the Fort Atkinson City Council has been videotaped and will be released for public viewing next week.
During the forum, longtime radio host and newsman Michael Clish asked each of the candidates — including incumbent Bruce Johnson, and challengers Ron Martin and Eric Schultz — a series of questions developed by our journalists at Fort Atkinson Online.
A second incumbent, Brandon Housley, filed papers of non-candidacy in December.
Of the three candidates, the two top vote-getters will win seats in April. City council candidates serve two-year terms.
The online-only forum is produced by Fort Atkinson Online and was videotaped Tuesday at the Fort Atkinson Club. Sponsors for this year’s event include nonprofit and nonpartisan groups the Fort Atkinson Club and the Heart of the City.
In addition, Fort Atkinson Online will be producing a second candidates forum featuring four candidates running for two open seats on the School District of Fort Atkinson Board of Education.
Candidates include Sam LaMuro, Matt Loup, Christopher Rogers and Robynn Selle. Two incumbents, Mark Chaney and Adam Paul, filed papers of non-candidacy in November.
Of the four challengers, the two top vote-getters will win seats in April. School board members serve three-year terms.
Videotaping for the online-only school board candidates forum is scheduled for next week, with a release date anticipated for the following week.
