The Fort Atkinson Parks and Recreation Department announced earlier this month that it has released its “2023 Fall/Winter Guide.”
According to information released by Parks and Recreation Director Brooke Franseen, the guide offers “an array of engaging programs and activities suitable for all ages.”
Program registrations for activities within the guide also have opened, the release noted.
As stated within the release, the guide offers a selection of activities that are both “established favorites” and new offerings.
Sports-related offerings include basketball leagues, soccer, and volleyball skills courses, as well as the “start smart sports program,” which is designed for individuals ages 3-7 “alongside a guardian,” the release noted.
Also offered is a dance program, along with karate classes for all age groups, and a multitude of enrichment opportunities.
Among new events this year, the release notes that guide readers will find programming designed to “capture the imagination,” including such offering as “Nerf Dart Battle” designed for participants ages 7-12, and an “artistic journey,” called: ”Mini Picassos” for ages 2-6. Also offered is ”Mini Movers,” a program for distend for ages ages birth through 5.
Senior Center activities
According to the release, the Fort Atkinson Senior Center is offering myriad activities, such as bingo, Wii Bowling, knitting sessions, a variety of card games, and monthly breakfast socials.
A Craft and Bake Sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
‘World of Wheels’
In addition, the release notes that the “World of Wheels” event will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Ralph Park, located along North High Street, Fort Atkinson.
The event is free and open to the public.
Registration options
Those interested in registering for programming are encouraged to arrive In-person at the Parks and Recreation Office, 30 N. Water St. W., or mail in their registration forms. Online registration also is available, the release stated.
