Ten Fort Atkinson High School seniors have been recognized as Badger Conference Top Scholars.
The students were presented plaques in recognition of their academic achievements during Wednesday’s livestreamed scholarship program.
They are, with fall college plans and majors noted: Matthew Betanski, University of Wisconsin-Platteville, cybersecurity; Tyler Betanski, UW-Stout, computer science; Tyler Freeman, UW-Platteville, cybersecurity; Olivia Granec, UW-Madison, undecided major and music minor; Logan Hamele, who plans to participate in the National Security Language Initiative Program to learn Mandarin at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China, and then likely attend McGill University in Montreal, Canada, to major in international development studies; Sarah Mepham, Carroll University, exercise science with a pre-physical therapy track; Riley Rogers, UW-Whitewater, accounting; Hannah Teubert, Madison Area Technical College, veterinary technician; Angela Unate, UW-Madison, business; and Alice Van Haaften, UW-Madison, English with an emphasis on creative writing.
“Although the pandemic prevents us from being able to celebrate this recognition together and in-person as part of our entire conference award ceremony, I really wanted to make sure our Badger Conference Top Senior Scholars hear how proud we are of each of them in their accomplishments and future plans,” Fort Atkinson High School principal Dan Halvorsen said during the scholarship program livestreamed for family and the public to view.
“On behalf of myself and the entire Fort Atkinson High School staff, we would like to congratulate and thank each of you for the tremendous accomplishments you have all achieved,” he added. “For your families, we would like to also recognize and thank them for the effort and dedication they have put in to help create such great students that we are fortunate enough to get to work with every day.”
