Fort to host annual Show Choir Showcase Invitational

Fort Atkinson High School, in partnership with the VOICES parent organization, has announced it will be hosting the 26th Annual Fort Show Choir Showcase Invitational. 

According to information released by the school district, the two-day competition will be held at the Fort Atkinson High School, 925 Lexington Blvd., Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 and 12. 

High school and middle school show choirs will be traveling from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa, to participate in the event, the release stated.  

Tickets will be available at the door. 

On Friday, the middle school show choir competition will begin at 6:30 p.m. Four middle school show choirs will be performing in the competition. The Fort Atkinson Middle School show choir, the 4th Street Singers, will be performing at 6:40 p.m. Middle school choir awards will be announced following the full four-choir performance. 

On Saturday, 21 high school show choirs will take the stage, including two from Fort Atkinson High School. Doors will open at 7 a.m., with the first performance beginning at 8 a.m., the release continued. 

Costs of tickets are as follows: Friday, $10 per adult ticket and $5 per youth ticket; Saturday: $16 per all-day adult ticket, $20 per all-day adult ticket with program, $10 per all-day youth ticket, and $10 (finals only) per adult ticket. Children age 5 and under are free. Programs cost $5 each.  

According to the release, those attending the event should be prepared to “enjoy fabulous musical performances and be dazzled by the range of songs, incredible choreography, and all-around show-stopping entertainment.” 

Event sponsors for this year’s event include: Abendroth Water Conditioning; Bender, Kind, and Stafford, DDS; Fort HealthCare; IPEC; Lake Mills Cleaners and Dyers, Inc., and Spacesaver Corporation.
