Gilbert was born on June 27, 1945, son of the late Gilber A. and Bernice (Braman) Dehnert.
Gib had a passion for cars and was very proud of opening his own body shop. It was a talent he excelled in. It was also something he and his son could bond over. He took great pride in passing on his passion and talent to his son.
Gilbert is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane; children, Lisa (Jeff Schroedl) Dehnert of Fort Atkinson, Todd (Tina) Dehnert of Belvidere, IL and Shelly Tipton of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Kaylee (Jake Nelson) Tipton of Cottage Grove, Michaela (Tyler Glass) Dehnert of Fort Atkinson, Taylor (Brandon) Acker of Stoughton and Luke Tipton of Cottage Grove; great grandchildren, Cash Thomas Glass and baby Acker due in July, he was so looking forward to meeting her. He is also survived by a very special niece, Cathy Lake and her two children, Jarod and Olivia; four nephews; many friends and his best canine friend and companion his loving dog, Snickers whom he loved so much. Snickers will miss his visits to Alden’s to lay by Gibs side and give kisses.
Gib was also preceded in death by his sister, Diane Kruse.
A special thank you to everyone at Alden’s who took such good care of Gib. Also to Agrace Hospice for all your loving care and compassion. Karissa, Hanna and Tonia, he looked forward to your visits.
Gib loved his family more than life itself. He so appreciated all they did for him. We will miss him so much.
The Lord called him home. His work on earth was done, no more pain and suffering. He is now an Angel in Heaven watching over all of us. Until we meet again…..
No service will be held at this time.
Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
