Job Fair, ‘Parent University’ to be held at Whitewater High

A Whitewater High School Job Fair and a “Parent University” are among upcoming events, according to information shared recently by the Whitewater Unified School District. 

According to a recent news release, the Job Fair will be held Wednesday, March 16, between 4:30 and 7 p.m., in the Whitewater High School gymnasium, 534 S. Elizabeth St.

A second Parent University will be held in conjunction with the Job Fair event.  

During the Job Fair, students and business owners will be able to discuss opportunities offered through the Youth Apprenticeship program, the release stated.  

Wisconsin’s Youth Apprenticeship program is a statewide initiative offered to high school students looking to engage with hands-on learning. The program offers opportunities for youth to participate in both a worksite and classroom setting, the release continued. 

The district expressed its enthusiasm in bringing the collaborative effort to its students.  

This month, businesses and organizations participating in the Job Fair include: Provisur Technologies; Whitewater Police Department; Whitewater Fire Department; Culver’s; Rock County Sheriff’s Department; City of Whitewater; Knights Public Affairs, LLC; State Farm, Jennifer Visser; First Citizens Bank; Fairhaven; Blackhawk Technical College; Whitewater Manufacturing; University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dining Services; East West Manufacturing; Whitewater Veterinary Hospital; Fairfield Inn; Abbey Springs on Lake Geneva; Geneva National Resort and Clubs; Fort HealthCare; Topcon; Kwik Trip; St. Elizabeth’s Manor; MercyHealth; New Horizon Food; Revamp Nutrition; Spacesaver and Beloit Senior Living. 

State Rep. Don Vruwink and Sen. Janis Ringhand will also be in attendance, according to the release. 

In addition, the release continued,, a second Parent University will be held at the Whitewater High School.
