The Greater Whitewater Committee (GWC) has announced that University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Chancellor Corey King will serve as guest speaker during the group’s April meeting.
King officially assumed his role at the university, a UW System news release in January stated, on March 1.
According to information released by the committee, King will offer introductory remarks about himself in his new role.
The GWC’s upcoming meeting will be held Thursday, April 13, at 7 a.m. at 841 Brewhouse, 841 E. Milwaukee St., Whitewater.

“We are excited to hear from Chancellor King at our upcoming meeting. He will be sharing his thoughts on the direction that the university is heading,” GWC President Jeff Knight was quoted as saying in the release.
About King
According to information released in January by the UW System, before accepted the position of 18th Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, which has campus locations in Whitewater and Rock County, King served as vice chancellor for Inclusivity and Student Affairs at UW-Green Bay.
He served as vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Financial Services at Bethune-Cookman University, Florida, prior to his role at UW-Green Bay and as vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Florida Atlantic University, and led the Council for Student Affairs of the State University System of Florida. King also held leadership positions at East Carolina University, Wheeling Jesuit University, and the University of Florida.
King holds a bachelor’s degree in curriculum and instruction and a master’s degree in higher education, and administration and student affairs from Florida State University. He also earned a doctorate in educational administration and leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
