School District of Fort Atkinson releases information about class of 2021 student ‘cumulative files’ 

Editor’s note: The School District of Fort Atkinson Pupil Services office has released the following information for publication pertaining to high school student record retention.

According to information released Thursday by the School District of Fort Atkinson: “A complete transcript of a student’s coursework and semester grades during high school and graduation status is retained indefinitely. 

“However, a student’s cumulative file containing test scores, report cards, and other academic records is only retained for two years post graduation. As such, the cumulative files of students that graduated in the year 2021 are scheduled to be disposed of.  Any students that graduated in 2021 who would like to keep their cumulative file are welcome to retrieve it from the Pupil Services Office at Fort Atkinson High School.”

Within the release, the district is requesting that those students who graduated in 2021 and would like a copy of their record, request that information through the district’s Pupil Services Office prior to Nov. 21. by scheduling a time to pick up their cumulative file. 

Cumulative files for the class of 2021 will undergo permanent disposal on Nov. 27, the release stated.
