“Project celebrations,” information released by the district states, will be held Thursday, Sept. 5.

The completed projects represent work done as part of the district’s 2022 Capital Facilities Referendum,” the release read.

Members of the public are invited to arrive at 5 p.m. at East Elementary School, 120 S. Sanborn Ave., Jefferson; at 5:45 p.m., at West Elementary School, 900 West Milwaukee St., Jefferson, and at 6:45 p.m., at Sullivan Elementary School, 618 Bakertown Rd., Sullivan, to participate in the events.

As stated in the release, “each location’s event will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the building.”  Building principals will be on hand during the ribbon-cutting events.

Following the ceremonies, the release continued, “attendees will have the opportunity to tour each renovated building, explore the improvements, and see firsthand the positive changes made possible through the referendum projects.”

“We are excited to thank our community for their support and share the results of their investment in our schools. We look forward to celebrating these enhancements that will offer our students a significantly enhanced and safer educational environment,” Charles Urness, School District of Jefferson superintendent, was quoted as saying in the release.

Additionally, the release noted, in October, the district will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by tours of renovations and an addition, at the district’s high school building. Final details of the event have not yet been announced, the release stated.
