Shoutout, with gratitude, to Fort’s public servants

Letter to the editor:

Over the summer I’ve had the pleasure to interact with a couple public servants to Fort Atkinson and would like to express my gratitude to these unsung heroes of every day. Yes, they get paid and we pay taxes for these services but needs arise out of their control and you know what? They step up because they have to., etc. Jedidiah Draeger, of our Zoning Department, showed up at our house at 5 p.m. on a hot Friday afternoon to clarify a property question for us so you know he wasn’t at happy hour that day.  Today I spoke with Jake, manager of storm clean-up, about how things have been going for him and crew since the storm at the end of July. Apart from having some extra help in the first days after the storm, his regular crew have been scrambling to do a mammoth job. He and his crew deserve a huge shout-out and I heartily thank Jake, Jedidiah and all our public servants of Fort Atkinson. And let’s all be patient about the dead hangers in our trees because he probably has them on the list and will get to them as soon as possible.
