Editor’s note: Due to inclement weather, this event has been postponed and will instead by held Tuesday, Jan. 30.

The Beautification Council of Fort Atkinson has announced that it will be holding a “visioning session” to discuss future projects.

According to information released by the group, the public is invited to help council members brainstorm ideas on the organization’s “two focus areas,” which, according to the release, have been developed to make Fort Atkinson “more beautiful.”

During the session, attendees will find a “short” presentation, slated to begin at 7 p.m., in the community room at the Dwight Foster Public Library, 209 Merchants Ave., Tuesday, with the full meeting slated to take place between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

Meeting participants are encouraged to “drop in” for a short time or stay for the full meeting, according to the release.

Those who are unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to visit the organization’s website and leave comments and ideas about proposed projects there.

Among ideas offered within the release, the organization noted that it is asking residents to help determine what entryway signage for the city should look like. Additionally, the group is exploring signs for placement in nature areas, and on highway ramps.

The release further notes that the organization is interested in installing bike racks within the city. Bike rack designs are among ideas the group is looking to discuss.

The statue was placed near the company’s downtown printing office, 28 Milwaukee Ave. The women hold cookies in the shape of cows which were provided to event-goers and made by Brunk’s Bakery in Fort Atkinson. The cow replica project was among the most recent installed by the Beautification Council of Fort Atkinson. The organization has announced that it will be holding a brainstorming session to gain ideas for future projects.
