The driver of a truck is dead after failing to negotiate a turn on a roadway in Ixonia, according to information released by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Friday.
As stated in the release, at approximately 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to the scene of a crash on County Trunk Highway CW, near Willow View Drive, in the town of Ixonia.
The crash involved a single vehicle, the release noted.
A preliminary investigation conducted at the scene found that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on County Trunk Highway CW when the driver did not negotiate a curve and subsequently the vehicle left the roadway.
The release additionally reported that the vehicle rolled, and the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, described within the release as “a truck,” was ejected.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff’s deputies at the scene were assisted by the Ixonia Fire and EMS and the Jefferson County medical examiner.
The incident remains under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.
