Vinton L. Anderson

Vinton L. Anderson, 97, of Whitewater was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He went to his eternal home on Friday, February 3, 2023 at his home. 

Vinton was born on January 3, 1926 in Whitewater to Randolph and Harriet (Shuman) Anderson.  At an early age, Vinton started working on his family’s farm, which he later would purchase.  On January 22, 1949 Vinton married the love of his life, LaVerne Grandt, and together they had five children. 

He enjoyed being able to be out in the fields farming.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family. 

He was a faithful member of First English Lutheran Church. He was also a charter member of the Whitewater FFA Alumni, and involved with the Whitewater FFA his whole life. He was a board member of the Badgerland Co-Op, and the ASCS. In his early years, during WWII, he was a member of the Civil Air-Patrol. At times, he would assist the  township in snowplowing.

Vinton is survived by his children, LeRoy Anderson, Glen (Lynn) Anderson, Arthur (Juli Wilson) Anderson, Erna Mae (Steven) Keil, Jane (Stanley) Pluemer; grandchildren, Michele (Thad) Elmore, Steven Anderson, Robert (Heather) Anderson, Angela (Johnathan) Atkielski, Vinton (Breanna) Anderson II,  Donald (Amy) Anderson, Christopher (Kelsey) Keil, Jason Keil, Timothy (Rachel) Keil; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Alexander, Aiden, Evan, Vinton III, Augustus, Alexis, Holland, Arthur “AJ”, Wyatt, Olivia, Callan, Kennedy; sister, Lois (James) Benes; brothers-in-law, Richard (Rose) Grandt, Ralph Grandt; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Harriet; wife, LaVerne Anderson; daughter-in-law, Leslie Anderson; siblings, Gwen Vandiver, Berwyn Anderson; sisters-in-law, Adeline Anderson and Belinda Anderson, Irene Pevonka, Eunice Grandt, Helen Grandt, Carol Grandt, Evelyn Grandt; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Grandt, George Grandt, Harold Grandt, Orville Pevonka; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Elsie Grandt; and step mother, Iva Anderson.

The family would like to give special thanks to Agrace Hospice Staff for their exceptional care for Vinton.  Also special thanks to his home care individual. 

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Vinton’s name to a charity of your choice.

An evening visitation will take place on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 3PM until 6PM at Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI 53190.

Funeral services will take place at 11AM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater.  Visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of services.  A private burial will take place following services.  Guests may view the recorded service at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/7025331315.
