The Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Warm Belly Farm has joined as a new member.
According to information released by the chamber, Warm Belly Farm, W8974 County Highway C, Fort Atkinson, is known for its unique hydroponic strawberry gardens and self-picking opportunities. Strawberries are planted in tabletop containers inside the company’s 30,000-square-foot hoop structure.
The heated, indoor facility offers accessibility to pickers year-round.
Picking is by appointment, allowing the company to ensure the availability of enough berries for everyone, the release noted.
“Customers appreciate the ease and simplicity of harvesting, which opens the door to all ages and abilities to come pick,” the release stated.
Established in 2017 by farm owner Francis Wisniewski, Warm Belly Farm creates a unique and progressive experience for the community.
According to the release, the company believes sustainable farming, using modern technology and agricultural practices, produces the highest quality products.
In addition to strawberry picking, Warm Belly Farm will offer apple picking in the fall. Plans call for 9,000 trees, planted in a high-density orchard — which, according to the release, helps facilitate growth — to produce fruit soon.
Those interested in learning more about the farm or making an appointment, may call: 920-691-2440, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m. Patrons are also encouraged to visit the farm’s website: www.warmbellyfarm.com.
