The Whitewater Arts Alliance this month will be celebrating the work of young artists.
The annual young artists exhibition features work created by students within the Whitewater Unified School District between the ages of 4 and 18.
According to information released by the Whitewater Arts Alliance, this year, due to the vast number of pieces, the exhibition will be on display in the gallery of the Cultural Arts Center, 402 W. Main St. Whitewater, and will not include a virtual option.
The exhibition will be available for in-person viewing between Thursday, April 13, and Sunday, April 30, during the gallery’s regular hours of operation, Thursdays through Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m.
The exhibition will include visual two-dimensional artwork made by students attending schools within the Whitewater Unified School District.
Teachers contributing artwork made by their students include: Justin Mane, Washington Elementary School; Sara Sixel, Lincoln Elementary School; Sara Brautigam, Lakeview Elementary School; Sarah Heyer, Whitewater Middle School, and Crystal Gill, Whitewater High School.
New this year, a musical reception will be held Saturday, April 15, featuring performances as follows:
• Lincoln World Drumming Ensemble, led by teacher Christine Hayes, from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
• Whitewater Unified School District String Ensemble, led by teacher Patricia Nielsen, from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
• Whitewater High School Choral Students, led by teacher Karen Tordera, from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
Light food and drinks will be provided during the reception, according to the release.
