Work of local artist Kelly Hausknecht on display at library

The Dwight Foster Public Library has announced that the works of local artist Kelly Hausknecht will be on display during the month of March.

Works will appear in the Jones Gallery on the library’s second floor and will include the artist’s series of whimsical paintings devoted to sweet marshmallow Peeps, according to a news release.

Hausknecht’s interest in the subject was inspired by the Annual Peeps Exhibition at the Racine Art Museum.

Some of Hausknecht’s paintings include collage elements such as clotheslines and pins and actual candy Peeps, the release stated.

“These creations are free spirited, silly and fun. She has also created an Artist’s Challenge scavenger hunt and a drawing to win one of the Peeps paintings. She encourages others to make a Peeps creation of their own and consider entering it for free at the Racine Art Museum next year,” the release noted.
