Some 2,500 area residents flocked to Haumerson’s Pond this past weekend to take part in the annual Haunted Halloween Hike.
The Fort Atkinson event, sponsored by the Friends of Haumerson’s Pond, was held Friday and Saturday night.
Proceeds support construction of a 26-by-44-foot storage/concession building. Modern Woodman of America planned to match up to $2,500 in donations.
Jerry and Sue Ropicki and Sean and Connie Kraus provided the 141 pumpkins that lined the Bark River Nature Park Trail.
Co-sponsors included Wayne Hayes Reality, Highland Dental, Badger Basement, Fort HealthCare, PremiereBank and Fort Community Credit Union.

Haunted Hike attendees roast marshmallows to make s’mores. Along with cookies and other treats, the Friends of Haumerson’s Pond sold marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers to make the campfire treat.
