The Fort Atkinson Woman’s Club has announced that a deadline to apply for its annal scholarship is approaching.
The club awards a scholarship of $1,000 each year to a woman who has plans to enroll in an educational program after taking a pause from education to work or raise a family.
The successful applicant will be planning to begin or continue her educational career at a college or through a vocational technical program, according to information released by the club.
“The recipient of the grant would be working toward an associate’s, bachelor’s or masters degree. The tuition grant of $1,000 will be paid directly to the campus selected by the recipient. The recipient will be expected to begin or continue studies in the 2023-2024 academic year,” the release stated.
To qualify, the applicant must be a resident of Fort Atkinson by meeting at least one of the following requirement:
• Fort Atkinson address or telephone number.
• Work for an employer based in Fort Atkinson.
• Is a past graduate of Fort Atkinson High School. Student’s who are enrolled as high school seniors are not eligible for the grant.
In addition, applicants will be evaluated by financial needs and/or family circumstances, realistic goals and their personal determination to achieve the goals they have set, the release noted.

An application form also is available by request through email: fortwc@yahoo.com. Applicants are asked to place the word “scholarship” in the subject line of their emails.
According to the release, applications must be returned to Syens, Campbell, Cornford or Myers by March 31.
The selected applicant will be notified by early May and awarded the scholarship at the Woman’s Club luncheon meeting on May 9 at the Dwight Foster Public Library, the release noted.
