The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Monday released information stating that a Sullivan man was found dead in an area pond
According to Sheriff Paul Milbrath, on Monday, June 12, at 4:46 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a residence in the town of Sullivan for the purpose of making a welfare check.
A subject living at the residence was 61 years old, according to the release.
As stated in the release, “deputies located the subject deceased in Rome Pond. Preliminary investigation leads to the subject suffering from a medical event prior to entering the water.”
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rome Fire Department, Sullivan Fire Department, Western Lakes EMS, and the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the release.
