Update: The Green County Sheriff’s Office Friday identified Kathryn Hilt as the individual who was killed in Saturday’s motorcycle crash.

A 60-year-old Fort Atkinson Woman died after sustaining injuries in a crash which occurred Saturday, July 8, according to information released by the Green County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.
According to initial reports, Green County sheriff’s deputies and other emergency personnel responded to a crash in the N8000 block of State Highway 69, town of New Glarus, at approximately 12:36 p.m.
The crash involved two motorcycles, according to information released by the sheriff’s office.
The report noted that an investigation found that a motorcycle was operating southbound on State Highway 69 when the operator “abruptly attempted to turn left into the brewery driveway.”
A second motorcycle, according to the report, which was following the first, struck the side of the first motorcycle.
The report noted that the second driver sustained a “severe injury” and was transported by ambulance for medical care.
The first driver “sustained life-threatening injuries,” and was transported by med flight for medical care.
“Both operators were not wearing helmets and were wearing eye protection,” the release stated.
Updated information released Tuesday by the sheriff’s office indicated that late Monday afternoon, the Green County Sheriff’s Office was notified that one of the individuals who had been transported to the UW Hospital in Madison for treatment, following injuries sustained in the July 8 crash, had died from her injuries.
The release noted that the sheriff’s office “expects to release the name of the crash victim later this week.”
According to the release, “this incident was Green County’s third fatal traffic crash of 2023.”
