The Jefferson County Master Gardeners and Volunteers Association has announced that the group will be meeting in person Thursday at 6:30 p.m., at the County Extension Office, 864 Collins Road, Jefferson.
The topic of discussion will be English gardens and reports about summer events will be shared.
The meeting is free to attend and open to the public.
According to information released by the group, Beverly Dahl, a master gardener and one of the association’s members, will share information and personal experiences about English gardens.
As stated within the release, in 2022, Dahl traveled to England on a nine-day gardener’s “dream tour,” which began in London. During that time, she touring both private and public English gardens found both at modest private homes and grand estates in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, in south central England.
Dahl’s presentation will be followed by a business meeting. Meeting topics will include the answer to the question: “What is your garden success story for this summer?”
Meeting minutes and general reports, along with updates and comments on the summer’s activities, also will be discussed.
In addition, highlights associated with tours, presentations and activities, offered through the Master Gardeners’ associations of Walworth, Rock and Jefferson counties, will be shared, and a brief review of ongoing business and upcoming dates will be noted, the release stated.
Association master gardener members and volunteers are encouraged to review the meeting agenda and bring their questions or comments, the release continued.
Further, the release noted the availability of “open positions,” citing upcoming elections in November.
According to the release, a listing of educational opportunities available to members and volunteers will be shared to provide educational hours.

The association’s next business meeting will be held Oct. 12, during which time Jo Christenson will make a presentation, titled: “Vineyards in France.”
