PremierBank offers April events, activities to celebrate Community Banking Month

April is Community Banking Month and PremierBank will be hosting several events and activities throughout the month across the communities it serves, including Jefferson, Rock, and Walworth counties, according to information released by the company.

As stated in the release, “Community Banking Month is historically a time when locally owned banks across the nation commemorate their independent spirit and unwavering commitment to helping consumers and small businesses achieve their financial goals.”

The release noted that PremierBank has been a locally owned community bank since its inception more than 160 years ago.

The bank “prides itself on building strong relationships with the businesses and residents it serves and continues to give back through local sponsorships, donations, and volunteering,” the release read.

“Independent community banks like ours offer safe, sound, and secure banking options for the residents and businesses we serve. Funding more than 60% of all small businesses in the United States and more than 80% of agriculture loans, local banks collectively contribute tax dollars that help maintain local municipalities and keep our local neighborhoods viable and vibrant. We enjoy participating in Community Banking Month every year to raise awareness about the importance of banking locally,” Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Kathy Rolfs was quoted as saying in the release.

Further, the release noted, along with funding small businesses, entrepreneurs, and local startups, community banks have over 50,000 locations across the nation employing nearly 700,000 Americans.
