Karen Jean Knuth

Karen Jean Knuth (nee Hagedorn) passed away quietly into Jesus’ arms on June 6, 2024 after a brief stay at Our House Senior Living in Cambridge, WI.

Karen was born January 23, 1943 to Russell & Evelyn Hagedorn in Hustisford, WI.  She was baptized September 6, 1943 at St. Lukes Ev. Lutheran Church, Rome WI.  She attended elementary school in Sullivan, WI and graduated from Jefferson Senior High in 1961.  

Karen was married to Robert (Bob) Knuth on August 29, 1962 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Helenville, WI.  Together they owned & operated Knuth Cleaning Service in Jefferson.  They enjoyed a quiet retirement together in Fort Atkinson, celebrating almost 60 years of marriage until Bob’s passing in 2022.  Karen enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and chatting with “the girls”.  

Karen is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law:  Penny & David Lecker and Rachelle (Shelli) & Scott Ellingson; her four grandchildren:  Ashley (Kevin) Boushek, Zachary (Sarah) Lecker, Erin (Ryan) Abel, and Luke Ellingson; and her 5 great grandchildren:  Aidan & Emma Boushek, Miles & Margot Lecker, and Elzie Abel; her sister-in-law Beverly (Don) Fritz and brother-in-law Dennis Leedle; several nieces & nephews; and other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob; her son, Richard Knuth; her mother & father in-law, Herman & Carolyn Knuth; sister-in-law Carol Leedle; and great grandson, Brooks Abel.  

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Asiamah and the 2nd floor nursing staff at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital and to the entire staff at Our House Senior Living of Cambridge and Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care of our mom and grandma. 

A memorial service will take place at 11AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church.  Visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of service.
