Gordon W. Lillge, 92, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Gordon was born on April 6, 1932, in Neosho, WI, son of the late Ernest and Adella (Luebke) Lillge. On June 9, 1949, he married the love of his life, Arline Kortendick in the Chapel at Fort Riley, Kansas.
After honorably retiring from the US Army Reserves as a E-9 Sergeant Major, Gordon continued to serve his community by working as an electrician for the City of Oconomowoc and later found joy in driving semi for Pepsi. His commitment to fellowship and brotherhood was reflected in his active involvement with the Masonic Lodge.
An avid sports fan, Gordon could frequently be found watching the Badgers, the Packers, and NASCAR. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for deer hunting. He took pleasure in the simple delights of life, from savoring Friday night fish frys and sipping on a Manhattan to enjoying game shows and ‘Gun Smoke’. The sounds of polka music often heralded the family’s dinner time, a testament to his love for tradition and celebration.
Gordon’s legacy is rich with memories of family picnics, camping adventures with friends, and precious moments spent with his grandchildren. His presence will be deeply missed, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
