OWI, eluding police, speeding charges filed in Fort HealthCare building crash

Dylan M. Pocius, the 18-year-old Reeseville man taken into custody Sunday after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into the Fort HealthCare Surgical Associates building on West Milwaukee Avenue in Fort Atkinson, has been charged with one felony count of Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer by the State of Wisconsin, one forfeiture count of Speeding on Expressway (35-plus miles per hour) by Jefferson County, and OWI (operating while intoxicated) first offense, which will be adjudicated through the City of Fort Atkinson’s Municipal Court. 

According to Wisconsin Circuit Court records filed online, Pocius is alleged to have been traveling as much as 59 miles per hour above the posted speed limit. 
 
Pocius made an initial appearance by Zoom conference from the Jefferson County Jail on Tuesday afternoon, at which time a signature bond of $500 was set. Conditions of the bond include that Pocius maintain absolute sobriety and he may not operate a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
 
Pocius has entered a plea of not guilty regarding the felony charge brought by the state. A pretrial conference date of June 2 has been set, as well as a preliminary hearing date of June 11. 
 
A court date of June 29 has been set regarding the excessive speed forfeiture charge brought by the county.
 
A court date of June 28 has been set by the city’s municipal court regarding the OWI first offense charge, according to Municipal Court Clerk Debra Hayes.
