The Jefferson County Literacy Council (JCLC) will be hosting a fundraising event which, organizers have announced in a recent press release, is sure to be fun for all and especially families.
The event features open mini golf at King Pin Adventure Golf, 1010 Larson Road, Fort Atkinson, and will be held Sunday, Aug. 29, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
There is a $5 charge for participating adults. All children are admitted free of charge.
The event will also feature raffles and prizes.
“We have 20 baskets to raffle,” Stacey Meacham, JCLC program coordinator said. Tickets for the raffle cost $1 each.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support family and adult literacy services in Jefferson County.
The event will be held rain or shine, and will also serve as a celebration of the nonprofit’s 20th year of serving residents in Jefferson County who wish to increase their skills in reading, writing, math and computer literacy, according to Meacham.
This year’s event sponsors include TSL Graphics, Eby Family Dental, Fort Healthcare and BKS.
Those interested in becoming a JCLC sponsor for this or other events can contact the nonprofit through its website: https://jcliteracyco.wixsite.com/jclc.
Further information about this and other events and services performed by the JCLC is also available on the website. A Facebook event page has also been set up.
The Jefferson County Literacy Council provides classes and one-on-one tutoring services in English as a Second Language and helps individuals prepare for US citizenship and/or GED testing. The nonprofit organization serves annually approximately 200 individuals in communities throughout Jefferson County and inside the Jefferson County Jail, according to the release.
