Fort Atkinson High School whipped up school spirit Friday afternoon during itsHomecoming pep rally.
Members of the band drumline marched through the hallways, luring students and staff to the gymnasium, where they were welcomed by the pompon squad.
The rally featured contests, music, dance routines with pompon squad and football team members; and the introduction of the football team, as well as all other athletic teams, school organizations and the three foreign-exchange students: Gioia Gatto of Italy, Paula Palacios Moreno of Spain and Maxim Sergevevich Kvachyov of Kazakhstan.
Among the competitions between classes and staff was a hotdog-eating contest won by sophomore Alex Lembrich.
The Homecoming court seated includes: freshmen Haley Dunne and Rylan Guth; sophomores Kalea Barrow and Cameron Haagensen; juniors Bryanna Duddek and Michael Schwarz; and seniors Hope Heagney and Cade Cosson; Natalie Kammer and Ryan Schoenherr; Kiara Wolfram and Drew Evans; Val Cassanova-Pena and Mighty McFarland; and Lily Belzer and Noah Maier.
Evans and Kiara Wolfram were crowned Homecoming king and queen.
The Fort Atkinson High School football team was faced Baraboo High School during the homecoming game Friday evening, during which Fort won against Baraboo 27-6.
The homecoming dance for currently enrolled Fort Atkinson High School students will be held Saturday with the theme, “Under the Sea.”
