The Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Ruby Rose Gallery, located inside the Cambridge Galleria, 214 W. Main Street, Cambridge, has joined the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce.
According to information released by the chamber, Ruby Rose Gallery features “gifts from the Earth,” including jewelry, mineral specimens, crystals, home décor, stone lighting (luminaries) and other natural products, sourced both locally and worldwide. The gallery’s intent is to educate and share the beauty, peace and joy of rocks and minerals, big and small.
Ruby Rose Gallery was founded in October 2017 by its three owners: Dave Mittlesteadt, Nancy Sheahan and Meghan Barthel. Their inspiration came from a chance encounter with one of the world’s largest gem shows in Tucson, Ariz.
Mittlesteadt and Sheahan said they met Barthel in Denver while on their first buying trip, the release continued. The trio saw the historic downtown Cambridge area as the perfect backdrop for their business. With Barthel’s knowledge of stones, Sheahan’s eye for beauty, and Mittlesteadt’s business skills, Ruby Rose Gallery was born. The business is named after Mittlesteadt and Sheahan’s daughter, Emma Rose, and the family’s pet, Golden Doodle, “Ruby.”
“We hand-pick our items instead of having them shipped to us. That allows more quality control over every treasure. We also focus on functional rocks (light sources, home goods, self-care tools) and high-end statement pieces. Every piece tells a story and reminds guests of experiences from their childhood or places they have traveled. We are grateful to share gifts that mark special occasions in one’s life,” Barthel explained.
Nearing its five-year anniversary, Ruby Rose Gallery is looking forward to continued success in connecting guests with the elements, the release stated.
