The Fort Atkinson Club has announced it will be hosting the Chris Hanson Band as part of its quarterly Chamber Series Concerts.

Concerts are held at the Fort Atkinson Club Community Center, 211 S. Water St. East., Fort Atkinson, and are free and open to the public. Performances start at 4 p.m., and last approximately 60 minutes. Reservations are required. To learn more about programming or to make a reservation, visit the club’s website: https://fortatkinsonclub.org.

The Chris Hanson Band will be performing Sunday, Jan. 30.

According to information released by the club, a light appetizer reception is held after the concert on the main level of the community center. Masks are required in the theater and hallways.

Biographical information about each of the five members in the Chris Hanson Band, as supplied by the club, follows:

Chris Hanson: If you’ve ever watched TV you’ve heard Chris’ music. Founder of MidCoast Music’s Catalog through Warner Chappell PM, Chris’ compositions have been on 20/20, the Super Bowl, Sex and the City, The Sopranos and countless other shows. Growing up in Waukesha and carrying on in the tradition of Les Paul, Chris loves the guitar and has produced albums for Greg Koch, John Sieger, Pat McCurdy, and has led several bands of his own, including: The Agents, Nine Volt Jubilee and The Chris Hanson Band.

Robin Pluer: Robin Pluer is a perennial WAMI Award winner for Best Female Vocalist. A gifted entertainer whom audiences love everywhere she performs, Robin was an original member of the R&B Cadets with Paul Cebar and John Sieger, and has performed with Milwaukee’s own Mrs. Fun and numerous others. Robin combines French chansons and jazz standards with contemporary songs, and has been a top draw at Milwaukee’s Bastille Days for years.

Glenn Asch: Glenn has been a violinist for the Milwaukee Symphony for over 30 years but his talents go deep into all music genres. From jazz, bluegrass and rock to the deepest ethnic roots found in Indian, Irish and Eastern music, Glenn beat the devil and challenges anyone to raise a bow against him. There are no survivors.

John Parrott: John is the rock of the band and the very definition of a rhythm guitarist. Playing an 18-inch arch top, John is a drum set that plays chords. Having played for years with Jethro Burns, Chet Atkins and Chuck Hedges, John brings the authority of a player who has gigged with the best.

John Babbitt: John is one of Milwaukee’s most active double bass performers, having worked with Manty Ellis, Chuck Hedges and David Hazeltine. John has worked with numerous Midwest Symphonic Orchestras including Rockford, Oshkosh, Green Bay and Milwaukee’s MSO.

Sponsors of the Chamber Series Concerts include the Young Auditorium and Fairhaven, information released by the club states.

According to the release, the mission of The Fort Atkinson Club Community Center is to strengthen the community by fostering connection, cooperation, learning, and celebration, further noting that the concert series fits well with the community-based and historical purpose of the club, which, the release continued, is to bring exposure to the arts and humanities into the area, in a well-preserved, beautiful space.

The Fort Atkinson Club is governed by a nine-member board of directors, including President Dominique Walsh and Vice President David Wegner.

The club has welcomed three new board members: Alan Goldberg, Mary Jones, and David Westrick.

Those interested in joining the club or serving as a volunteer may contact Jill Kessenich, executive director, 920-568-1720, Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
