A pancake breakfast fundraising event held by the Fort Atkinson Rotarians and Interactors, the Rotary Club’s international service club for young people ages 12-18, netted some $1,000 to be used for community projects.
According to a news release supplied by the groups, the breakfast, which featured to-go meals, was held Sunday, March 13. Club members prepared the meals at the Fort Atkinson Club.
The meals featured pancakes with butter and syrup, Jones sausages and orange juice in paper to-go containers.
Members of Interact are dedicated to international and local service through fundraising projects and also host Fort Atkinson High School’s foreign exchange program, the release stated.
Local service projects include “Feed Your Soul,” “Blessing Box” and support of St. Vincent de Paul, the release continued.
Additionally, the release noted, the club’s current international project raises money for the community of Barangay Tigum, in the Philippines. Funds will be used to provide pumps suitable to provide water for drinking and household uses, as well as to provide sanitary facilities.
Sponsors of the pancake breakfast included, at the “gold” level: Bender, Kind, and Staord Dental; Fort Community Credit Union; Bare’s Fort Tax Service; Jones Sausage; Bos Design Builders; Cardinal Financial; Northwestern Mutual; Fort Health Care; Johnson Bank, and Premier Bank. At the “silver” level: Hometown Pharmacy, and at the “bronze” level: Dr. James Fitzpatrick, Mike Wallace, Tuttle’s Pharmacy, Chris Neverman of Edward Jones, Fort Real Estate Company, LLC., Paddy Coughlin’s Pub, Fort Johnson Farms, and Five Star Antiques and Vintage.
