A Cambridge pottery festival will be featured on “Discover Wisconsin,” the statewide media brand and tourism TV show.
The village’s pottery roots that led to the creation of the Midwest Fire Fest will be the focus of an episode that airs statewide Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. on Bally Sports Wisconsin.
“Discover Wisconsin” announced in a press release that in this episode, its co-hosts visit two museums that showcase some of the most beautiful art and culture in Wisconsin. Alex Wehrley explores the exhibits and beauty inside the Chazen Museum of Art on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, and Josh Casey visits the Door County Maritime Museum on the shores in Sturgeon Bay to see the newly opened Jim Kress Maritime Tower.
The hosts then expand their search for art and culture in Wisconsin by visiting two destinations that not only enjoy creative art, but festivals to celebrate that form.
Wehrley spends time touring picturesque Cedarburg during “Paint Cedarburg,” the annual weeklong Plein Air painting competition. Lastly, Casey ventures to Cambridge to meet an area potter to learn the long history of pottery in Cambridge and enjoy the annual Midwest Fire Fest.
Discover Wisconsin’s, “Wisconsin Art and Culture” episode also will be featured in episode 120 of Discover Wisconsin’s official podcast, “The Cabin.” The episode is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and various other podcast streaming apps.
It was produced by Bryce Erlandson.
