Clifford C. Smith Jr. “Chuck” found peace when he passed away May 15, 2022 at his home in Fort Atkinson. He was born to Clifford and Helen (Lawrence) Smith on March 26, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Fort Atkinson.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Carol Dougherty Smith; his daughter Michelle Smith; his stepchildren, Colleen Burt, Pat (Katya) Dougherty and Tim (Lindsay) Dougherty. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Levi Barrett, Gavin, Isabell, Brodie, Zander and Axel.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Ann Smith; son Duwayne Smith; stepdaughter, Chris Barrett; parents and brother, Gary Smith.
Chuck worked at many different jobs, but he especially enjoyed building homes with his father. He later worked at UW Whitewater in their janitorial department at Knilans Hall. He also loved wood working in his shop where he made furniture and worked on classic cars. He enjoyed hunting and making his own ammunition.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. on Saturday at the memorial home until time of service.
