The Fort Atkinson Community Band kicked off its 62nd season Monday night with a concert in Barrie Park.
Some 150 people embraced an unseasonably warm evening to hear the band perform its first concert of the season.
Titled “Been There, Done That,” the performance featured favorite tunes for people of all ages.
Band Director Wayne Crook announced Monday that in a show of solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion, each in this season’s summer concert series would start with the Ukrainian national anthem, followed by the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
Audience members who were able Monday stood for both.
Upcoming free concerts are slated for July 4, July 18, Aug. 1 and Aug. 15. The music starts at 7:30 p.m.
