FCCU awards $10,000 in scholarships to area graduates

The Fort Community Credit Union (FCCU) has announced that it has awarded five scholarship to area 2022 graduates, each of whom have been selected to receive $2,000.

The awards total $10,000.

According to information released by the credit union, “the scholarship was developed in 2019 as a reflection of FCCU’s mission statement: ‘To help our members be in a better financial position than when we met them.’ With the rising cost of education, we wanted to help local graduates offset costs as they enter a whole new chapter of their lives. We are confident the students chosen (representing all of those who applied) have a bright, exciting future ahead of them,” Danielle Frawley, executive vice president and chief experience officer at FCCU, was quoted as saying in the release.

The scholarship recipients are:

• Summer Semrau, a Fort Atkinson High School graduate, who plans to attend Blackhawk Technical College in pursuit of an associates degree in radiography.

• Guinevere Yeager, a Whitewater High School graduate, who plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in pursuit of a degree in computer engineering.
