Annual breakfast welcoming new Fort educators held

A breakfast welcoming new educators into the schools within the Fort Atkinson community was held Thursday, Aug. 18, according to information released by the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce. 

The event was sponsored by the chamber in partnership with the Hoard Historical Museum and Nasco, according to the release. 

Approximately 45 new teachers, who will be serving within Fort Atkinson’s public and private schools, were invited to a “meet-and-great” style breakfast, which was served by Fort Atkinson-based Carla’s Catering and hosted at the Hoard Historical Museum, the release stated. 

The breakfast is an annual tradition meant to thank educators for their investment in Fort Atkinson’s youth, the release noted. 

During the event, new teachers and administrators were welcomed by Merrilee Lee, director of the Hoard Historical Museum; Megan Hartwick, a member of the Fort Atkinson City Council; Jordan Nelson, customer engagement manager at Nasco; John Kutz, Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors president elect, and Rob Abbott, School District of Fort Atkinson superintendent. 

New teachers and administrators each received a welcome bag filled with classroom supplies sponsored by local businesses, included: A Better Physique, Badger Bank, Badgerland After School Enrichment Program (BASE), Bender, Kind and Stafford Dental, Crimson Salon and Spa, Effortless Elegance, Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., Fort Community Credit Union, Fort HealthCare, Fort Family Dental, Fort Tax Service, Frostie Freeze, Great Clips, Hometown Pharmacy, Humphrey Floral and Gifts, Jefferson County Board of Realtors, Jonas Office Products, Jones Market, Klement Towing and Recovery, Madison College, mkCellular, U.S. Cellular Authorized Agent, MSI General Corp., Nasco, NextHome Success, Nitardy Funeral Home, Pick ‘n Save, Premier Bank, Rock River Dental, Thrivent Financial/Michael Stade, Waterfront Restaurant Group, World Finance Corporation and Yerges Vanliners.
