Letter to the editor:
I have known Scott Johnson for nearly 20 years, since he served on the Fort Atkinson school board. Scott’s not a career politician like so many in public service today. He is fair-minded and puts the interests of people first.
The last two-plus years have been hard on all of us, but perhaps our children have suffered the most. Going forward, Scott is dedicated to allowing parents more transparency and more choices to educate their children as they see fit. He also sees the need to hold schools accountable to meeting high academic standards so they deliver a great education for our kids.
Scott also will work for schools and the business community to partner to develop a skilled workforce, which is so badly needed now. He supports strengthening job training and apprenticeships at our technical colleges so employers can find the workers they need and employees can find new career opportunities.
As a farmer, Scott understands the value of hard work. Let’s face it, Wisconsin has many problems and too many politicians who are in it for themselves and the lobbyists, not the people. He will support reforms to allow us to get our economy back on track and empower Wisconsin families to keep more of their hard-earned income in their pockets. Scott will fight to cut taxes and help us to invest more money in our families, not the bloated bureaucracy.
Scott knows we also need to keep our communities safe and be great places to live. As our Assembly representative, Scott will work to strengthen our laws, get rid of low bails and lenient parole policies to keep violent criminals off the streets, and support law enforcement.
Scott will be an independent voice in the state Assembly, as an advocate for all of us who want to see positive change happen in Madison. I urge everyone to join me in voting for Scott Johnson for the 33rd Assembly district on November 8.

Allow us to get our economy back on track? We currently enjoy the lowest unemployment rate and highest budget surplus in Wisconsin history. Vote Tony Evers, Sara Rodriguez, Mandela Barnes and Don Vruwink on Nov. 8.
