Members of The Unity Project of Fort Atkinson will be hosting the seventh annual Fort “Fall Fiesta” this Saturday.
The event will be held in Jones Park, 600 Janesville Ave., Fort Atkinson, between noon and 4 p.m.
The event is free to attend and open to the public.
According to information released by the group, the fiesta brings English and Spanish speakers within the community together for an afternoon of food, music, dancing, games and children’s activities.
Authentic food will be available from La Morenita taco truck and the Hispanic congregation of First United Methodist Church. Ice cream treats will be served by Frostie Freeze, and Beauty and the Bean will serve coffee drinks, the release stated.
Among family friendly activities planned, a local DJ will provide a mix of Hispanic and other music, and will take requests. Cub scout troops, the Jefferson County Humane Society, Fort Healthcare, and the Badgerland After School Enrichment Program, Inc., or BASE, will be on-hand offering free face painting, balloon animals and giveaways, the release read.
New this year will be a quinceañera fashion show co-hosted with the Unity Project by the Fort Atkinson Club. The event will take place at 1 p.m.
Participants also may enter a Dominos tournament for a chance to win tickets to a Milwaukee Brewers game.
Additionally, members of the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce will announce the winner of a recent activity held in Fort Atkinson called “Lemonade Day.” The annual event offers children a chance to learn and display entrepreneurial skills by creating and operating a lemonade stand in the community’s downtown. The announcement is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m.
Further, event-goers will find more than 30 exhibitors offering products, services or opportunities to members of the Hispanic community, the release continued.
Sponsors of the event include the Fort Community Credit Union, Fort HealthCare, Jones Dairy Farm and Molina HealthCare.
Concessions provided during the event are sponsored by Kwik Trip and BKS Dental.
Additional support for the event is provided by Sam Hartwick and the Fort Atkinson Generals, Fort Atkinson city staff, and members of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, according to the release.
