Arline M. Lillge, 94, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on October 26, 2024. Born in Hartland, Wisconsin on June 7, 1930, daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Ward) Kortendick. Arline’s energy and sass added color and joy to the lives of all who knew her. She married Gordon Lillge on June 9, 1949, in the Chapel at Fort Riley, Kansas
Arline’s life was a tapestry of love and dedication, woven through the threads of her pastimes and the love of her family. Her baking (especially dessert) brought comfort and delight to many family gatherings. Arline’s hands were rarely still, as she filled her home with the beauty of crocheted pieces and various crafts.
A woman of numerous passions, Arline’s life was a testament to the joys found in everyday moments. She enjoyed the serene company of birds, the thrill of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and the excitement of gambling, whether indulging in scratch-offs or visiting the casino, she embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Always one to stay connected and current, she loved playing on her iPad. Her adventurous spirit came alive with rides to Kiltie in Oconomowoc for ice cream. She and her husband shared a fondness for Culver’s fish fries, a tradition reflecting the simple, cherished moments of their life together.
Arline’s legacy is lovingly carried on by her children, Eugene (Carol) Lillge, Cindy (Randy) Swan, and Penny (JR) Klement. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and a matriarch to many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to blossom through her wisdom and warmth. She reunites in eternal peace with her parents, beloved husband, son Michael Lillge, granddaughter Stephanie Swan, sisters Marie and Betty, and brothers Robert and Ken.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of service. Burial will follow at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.
