Becky Floyd’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. Becky passed away on August 14, 2023 at the age of 63 after a hemorrhagic stroke, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Becky, the daughter of Paul and Barbara Milleson was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania and has been a long-time resident of Fort Atkinson, moving here in 1963. She went through nurse’s aid training after high school and worked mostly with seniors in nursing homes, before becoming a full-time mom. As a full-time mom, she also had the difficult task of running the household with 3 young children while her husband, Chuck, was gone for long periods of time while serving in the Army.
Becky had a caring heart, always wanting to take care of others who were ill or needed a shoulder to cry on. She loved bird watching, enjoyed going to Dorothy Carnes Park during the migration periods. She also had a soft spot for pit bulls, having had 3 very special pits over the years. She is a strong advocate for the Jefferson County Humane Society, donating many different resources to their cause.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; sons, Brandon (Valeria) and Bryan; brothers Rob (Kim) and Paul Milleson; sisters Janet (Rick) Haas and Nancy (Greg) Jones; two grandchildren Melanie and Nathan.
Becky lost her daughter Linde in 2021 due to a lung embolism which had devastated her. She further preceded in death by her sister, Lynne (Dan) Kreisman.
Visitation will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson on Monday, August 21 from 5PM until 7PM. A graveside service will be private for family members at the Evergreen Cemetery on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Becky’s name can be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society.
